Newport Diagnostic Center offers CT services on the Siemens Sensation 16 CT System which is a multi-slice system capable of acquiring up to 32 slices per second.

This exciting system allows for a variety of procedures to be performed with greater precision and speed. The shortening of exams times drastically improves those exams requiring breath-hold sequences while also providing added convenience to patients.

Until now, performance in CT has been limited by a series of compromises. For example, large data volumes prohibited thin slices and slow scans caused motion artifacts ultimately impairing image quality.

Radiation exposure has been a topic of recent conversation with respect to CT. The Sensation 16 CT system offers C.A.R.E. (Combined Applications to Reduce Exposure) package which aids in the ability to vary the radiation dose received by the patient (depending on the particular area being imaged) which reduces the dose rate by up to 50%.
