Dr. Ibrahim Hirbawi has an extensive background in academic radiology. He is a contributing author of the textbook, Magnetic Resonance Imaging and has published several papers in the leading radiology journals American Journal of Radiology and Radiology. His academic research and publications cover a broad spectrum of the radiological sciences from cranial nerve pathology to mammography and women's imaging. He has presented his works at the Annual Meeting of the Radiological Sciences of North America and at other meetings and exhibits. He was awarded the Roentgen Resident/Fellow Research Award by the Radiological Society of North America.
He earned his bachelors degree in biological sciences from the University of California, Irvine (UCI), and was in Phi Beta Kappa and graduated with honors.
Dr. Hirbawi then attended the UCLA School of Medicine where he was awarded Alpha Omega Alpha recognition and received the Outstanding Thesis in Medical Sciences Award. His internship in internal medicine was served at Huntington Memorial Hospital in Pasadena, and his residency training in radiological sciences was at UCI. Following his board certification by the American Board of Radiology, Dr. Hirbawi earned subspecialty fellowship training in magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) at Long Beach Memorial Hospital.
He is a member of the Radiological Society of North America and the Orange County Radiological Society.
Dr. Hirbawi resides in San Clemente, California.
